Overview and Features

This industrial charging and starting unit is suitable for use with 6, 12, and 24-volt batteries. The DSR 770 features a 300-Amp engine start that’s capable of jumpstarting any vehicle. The unit comes complete with 4-gauge, 9-ft output cables and heavy-duty clamps that suit commercial charging applications.

User-friendly selector dials allow technicians to choose from a range of voltage and amperage settings, as well as charge times, clearly marked on the casing of the machine. Access the settings using the mechanical selector knob to choose your ideal charge rate. The external housing also features large volt and amp gauges for easy reference during operation.

The unit features smart technology to stop system overloads and short-circuits. The Schumacher DSR ProSeries 770 weighs 48.5-pounds, making it ideal for workshop or pit use. The sturdy 8-inch plastic base available on all ProSeries models assures the charger doesn’t move around and stays level during operation.

However, the unit does have excellent mobility. The housing comes complete with a built-in trolley system with a large handle.  A robust 14.5″ x 3/8″ diameter axle that features large, plastic wheels helps technicians move the unit around the workshop floor or the pit lane.

The internal components of the charger are fan-cooled, with heatsinks and automatic overheating protection. Powered by a 115-volt power supply, the unit works straight out of the box.

Never overcharge a battery with the convenient 2-hour onboard timer that shuts down the system automatically. The ProSeries DSR 770 meets safety standards and is UL outdoor approved as well as CUL approved.

Summary of the Schumacher PSW-7700 DSR ProSeries

Schumacher is renowned for providing charging solutions that suit the most demanding workshop conditions. This American brand is synonymous with motorsport racing and their products used by the top echelon of racing teams in the United States. Whether you’re charging up batteries for race day, or a bank of batteries at your fleet workshop, Schumacher ProSeries fits right at home.

The only drawback to the ProSeries 7700 is its burly casing and overall weight. However, the convenience of built-in dolly wheels and sturdy handle mean that you can move this charger around the workshop effortlessly. It’s easy to wheel the unit over to the opposite side of the workshop floor to jumpstart a vehicle.

This unit is best suited to large fleet workshops with high volumes of vehicles passing through the doors. Unless you’re a serious enthusiast with an impressive personal garage, this may be more machine than you need.
